65 years and Older

Routine examination every 1-3 years.  Screen blood pressure, weight.  Cardiovascular risk assessment.

Cancer screening- colon and rectal cancer, breast cancer, cancer of the cervix, skin examination for skin cancer

Immunizations- yearly influenza vaccine, Pneumococcal vaccine once after age 65, tetanus booster every 10 years.

Testing- Cholesterol screening every 3-5 yrs, blood sugar every 3-5 yrs, consider thyroid testing

Healthy lifestyle- Limit alcohol intake to 2 ounces or less daily.  No smoking or use of tobacco products.  Exercise regularly.  Eat a diet including 5 fruits and vegetables daily.

Consider using aspirin daily.
