Community Health Network is partnering with Lincare Home Respiratory to provide the sleep support group “Alert, Well and Keeping Energetic” (A.W.A.K.E.). This group meets the first Wednesday of each month, with the next meeting on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Berlin Memorial Hospital, 225 Memorial Drive. The meetings take place in the hospital’s conference room in the lower level from 6:00-7:30pm. A.W.A.K.E. is staffed by medical professionals who can help attendees with a variety of issues—including CPAP mask fitting and machine troubleshooting for those with sleep apnea, as well as nutrition advice and relaxation techniques for a person suffering from any sleep problem.
The sleep support group is facilitated by Lincare’s Maria Munoz who works with CHN Sleep and Occupational Medicine staff, including sleep specialist Eric Newgent, DO to provide these free meetings. A.W.A.K.E. offers peer support, practical information, resources and problem solving techniques for those with difficulties sleeping.
You do not need to be a patient of Dr. Newgent’s to attend the support group—it is open to the public, is kid-friendly and refreshments are provided. To reserve your spot at the December 5th session, please call the facilitator Maria at 920.203.8821 or email her at
